About Me

Jeanette Cole, Author/Blogger/Realtor®

My Author Bio

Here's a little bit about me

My name is Jeanette Cole. I’m a wife, a mom to two grown children, and a grateful mother-in-law to both a son-in-law and a daughter-in-law. I lived most of my life in the Chattanooga, Tennessee area until 2019, when my husband and I followed God’s leading and made the move from the mountains and lakes of Tennessee to the beach and palm trees of North Carolina. It’s our happy place, and we love it!

I have battled depression for much of my life. Nothing traumatic happened to cause it—I wasn’t abused or mistreated growing up. I'm simply an extreme introvert who constantly felt pressure to fit in. That inner struggle eventually turned into fear, isolation, and a defeated mindset. I believe fear is at the root of most people’s depression, and I gave in to it as a young child. The longer I allowed fear to control me, the more hopeless I became.

People often assume that someone dealing with depression looks sad or broken—but many of us are just quiet, tired, and holding it together as best we can. I was often misunderstood as stuck-up or stand-offish, when in reality, I was just painfully shy. That misunderstanding led to bitterness, negativity, and years of silently sinking.

However, I got tired of feeling down all the time, and I made a decision: I would fight for my mind. Through studying the Bible and embracing my Christian faith and mental health, I began to experience real change. I stopped focusing on the problems around me and started looking to the problem-solver—Jesus.

Now, I choose to speak life over myself and think God-honoring thoughts. Our words and actions truly do matter. The moment we start shifting our focus, things begin to change.

I believe depression isn’t just a mental battle—it’s a spiritual one. And I’m at war with the devil. With the help of depression support and mental health resources, I invite you to fight with me. Will you stand as a warrior in the army of God? Let’s be the Church. Let’s rise up and whip the devil’s butt together!

Make Jesus your Lord and Savior

Woman meditating with eyes closed and hands in prayer pose.

Romans 10:9-13

9. If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved, which is essential for those seeking Christian faith and mental health. 10. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved, providing a strong foundation for anyone needing depression support. 11. As Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame.” 12. For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile—the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, allowing access to vital mental health resources. 13. For, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
